Smart tips to preserve your favorite sarees !!

Sarees are an implicit part of Indian tradition and women love to have a collection of sarees that will suit their body frame perfectly. If you are a saree lover then there is a possibility that every saree you buy has a certain set of memories attached and this makes your sarees even more special to you. Thus, if you are a smart buyer then you will realize the true importance of money and will make sure that you maintain your saree collection in a perfect condition.

Always keep a good glass tissue saree ready as it will prove handy if you have to attend any party suddenly. Cotton and organza sarees also look elegant and classy but are a bit difficult to maintain. The only flaw in these sarees is that their color starts fading after every wash. So, if you want them to last longer, always starch them after every wash. It will help these sarees to retain their shine for a longer duration.
As far as maintenance of pure georgette or glass tissue sarees is concerned, the important thing that one should keep in mind is that these sarees should always be dry-cleaned. Machine wash or hand-wash can cause serious wear and tear as the fabric might get twisted with these methods. Also, never hang these sarees in cupboard as it will bring unwanted crease on these sarees. The better approach is to keep them folded in a saree cover inside a drawer.  Also, keep changing its folds from time to time as keeping them in folded in one particular position can cause the same problem of unwanted creases, wear and tear.

Helpful tips to preserve sarees!

Taking care of expensive sarees requires a great amount of care  and patience on behalf of the buyer. In the following passages, I have shared some valuable tips for maintaining Designer and Party Wear sarees made of Cotton, Chiffon Silk and Georgette with minimum investments in terms of time, money and energy.

* Cotton Sarees
As a rule of thumb, cotton saris should always be washed separately as their colour starts spreading with each subsequent wash  that might spoil other clothes as well. Immersing saris in water for long periods of time or drying them in scorching heat can also lead to color fading.  Starching Cotton Saris after each subsequent wash  helps in color retention.

* Chiffon Sarees
Chiffon Sarees  also  require care and maintenance just as cotton sarees  do especially during the laundering process. One should avoid twisting the sarees  during the  hand-wash process, instead  the sarees  should be swirled under a sink during the washing process  and pressed gently to squeeze out all the water and hung dry. Moreover, they should not be wrapped  too  tightly and one should avoid using sari pins as it might tear the fabric.

* Silk Sarees
Silk saris  are not only the most expensive element of any collection but  they are also the most delicate to maintain. To remove any kind of dirt or stain from silk saris, one should opt for dry-cleaning as hand-wash/machine-wash may strain the fabric. Saris having heavy zari or embroidered borders should not be hung for long as their fabric can get strained and may ultimately tear. While ironing these silk sarees, one should always take note of the  temperature  as  extra heat can burn the fabric.

* Georgette Sarees
Georgette saris being highly vulnerable to tear tend to lose their shape if kept hanging for a long time. It is  advisable to refold  these sarees from time to time as tears start appearing on creases if they remain folded in the same position for a long time.

I hope these tips prove to be very useful in maintaining your designer and party wear sarees in perfect condition for a  long time to come
